In this session, attendees will be able to identify and use systems to effectively address components of the turn-around-school model.  The components are based on the research of Dr. Larry Lezotte and Ron Edmonds:  7 Correlates of Effective Schools.  These are “correlates” because researchers have identified them as being correlated to student achievement.  

Participants will become aware of the correlates that leaders use to improve the performance of the school through the collaboration of all stakeholders.

2) Frequent monitoring of student progress
3) Opportunity to learn and student time on task
4) Safe and orderly environment
5) Positive home-school relations
6) Strong instructional leadership
7) Clear and focused mission
