Our schools are a reflection of our communities, we can no longer ignore the level of influence both have on one another. We need to embrace, leverage, and reinvent this connection with today’s youth in mind as true engagement is a two-way street.  Schools, families, and other members within our community are more interconnected than we often realize.  Inspired by writings from James Ainsworth, I will share my 5 characteristics of a thriving village, and break down strategies that help build bridges between the school and the surrounding community.
