Dr. Dawn McGrath is a passionate advocate for strengthening the community through the appreciation of the gifts that each person can contribute.  She began her career as a special education teacher, working with children from elementary to high school in four different states.  She then served as a project director for the Indiana Department of Education for ten years culminating in the role of the Director of Special Education.  Dr. McGrath has been a central office administrator in three Indiana school corporations and has taught graduate and undergraduate courses at four Indiana universities on the topics of legal issues, inclusion, and community relations.  She and her husband have raised two boys, the older being a college graduate with autism.
